Eggs:

The main source of eggs is chicken. An egg is considered one of the most balanced foods of nature because it contains all essential nutrients. The main component is protein, i.e., present in both egg white and egg yolk. Other nutrients present in eggs are Vit- A, D, E, B-12, folate, iron, selenium, lutein & zeaxanthin, choline, cholesterol, and omega-3 fatty acids. So, a serving of 2 eggs is equal to one serving of meat.

There are many benefits of eating eggs, e.g., a protein present in eggs helps our body grow in repairing and forming new cells.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are very good for improving eyesight. The presence of Vit- D in eggs makes them good for bones and teeth.

Vit- B12 and omega-3 (a polyunsaturated fatty acid) help to improve heart diseases.

Iron prevents the chances of occurring of anemia, especially in pregnant women.

Whole grains are in the form of an entire kernel, including all of its parts, the bran, germ, and endosperm. e.g., whole wheat flour, cornmeal, oatmeal, and brown rice. These are rich in dietary fibers, iron, and other minerals.

Refined grains are processed in mills where the bran and germ are removed, e.g., refined wheat flour, white rice, etc. Refined grains are considered poorly nutritious because they lack iron and dietary fibers due to the removal of bran and germ.

Grains are a significant source of carbohydrates, dietary fibers, iron, and Vit-B complex.

Many other food products are produced from grains like pasta, bakery products, cereals. Food consisted of whole grains rich in dietary fibers, so they help reduce the risk of heart diseases and improve digestion by preventing the chances of constipation. Iron-fortified cereals reduce the risk of anemia in children. Eating healthy grain food during pregnancy can reduce the risk of many congenital disabilities in babies.
